Paid parking spaces on the South Campus

PBW will take over parking management on Campus South effective October 1, 2026.

You can create the required PBW account now using your work email address. Long-term parking permits can be booked online starting September 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Starting September 3, 2026, the rates for KIT employees will then be automatically displayed to you.

Effective October 1, 2026, paid parking will be introduced on KIT’s Campus South. Entry through the barriers (North Barrier/Adenauerring, East Barrier/Engesserstraße, West Barrier/Am Zirkel, the barrier at Fasanengarten, etc.) will then be permitted only for vehicles with the appropriate parking authorization (long-term parking permit, day pass, short-term ticket).
The parking management system stems from a 2018 resolution by the state government. The state-owned company “Parkraumgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg mbH” (PBW) is responsible for the system. PBW is in charge of pricing, additional terms and conditions, and implementation.
At this time, it has not yet been definitively determined how you will gain access to Campus South. There are various technical and organizational options that still need to be finalized. We are very committed to establishing simple and unbureaucratic procedures for you.
We can already confirm that, starting October 1, 2026, service providers and suppliers will be able to enter the campus by ringing the bell at the gate after contacting the control center. However, we are working toward a solution that will allow you to enter without the risk of delays.
For further information, please visit the PBW website (www.pbw.de). We will post updates for you there as they become available.
