Getting Around by Bike
The bicycle is one of the best and most widely used means of transportation. It is environmentally friendly, inexpensive, and also beneficial to one's health. KIT would therefore like to support the use of bicycles and increase the share of cycling in the mobility of staff and students.

E-scooters are increasingly being used as a complementary mode of transportation.
Information on the traffic rules in effect in Karlsruhe, as well as on the services and complaint procedures offered by individual e-scooter providers, can be found on the City of Karlsruhe’s website:
- Traffic Rules for E-Scooters and Small Electric Vehicles
We have set up mobility mailing lists in order to improve communication with you and reduce the load on your inboxes.
Information that we distribute via this list is relevant for cyclists at KIT.
Information that we will send out via this list:
- Notifications about traffic developments (e.g. roadworks, detours, closures, etc.)
- Notifications about competitions or other (cycling) traffic events
- Notifications about traffic topics (regional, national, international)
You can subscribe to and unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time via the linked page.

Note
The “Jobrad” is not offered by KIT. There are a number of reasons for this. On the one hand, this is partly due to the complex “Jobrad” system itself: It not only involves tax disadvantages for the employees, but also means an enormous burden of costs and administration for the employer. In addition, the job bike for KIT employees can only be established through an agreement between the collective bargaining parties Ver.di and KIT.
